A copy of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them resides on almost every wizarding household in the country. Now, for a limited period only, Muggles too have the chance to discover where the Quintaped lives, what the Puffskein eats, and why it is best not to leave milk out for a Knarl.
Proceeds from the sale of this book will go to improving and saving the lives of children around the world, which means that the dollars and Galleons you exchange for it will do magic beyond the powers of any wizard. If you feel that this is insufficient reason to part with your money, I can only hope most sincerely that passing wizards feel more charitable if they ever see you being attacked by a Manticore."

Back in September, Warner
Bros. announced a partnership with J.K. Rowling for the creation of a new movie franchise based on Fantastic
Beasts & Where To Find Them. The spin-off series, inspired to the fictitious textbook, will
be set in New York 70 years before Harry Potter heads to Hogwarts, so Harry and
his friends won't appear at all in the movies. How hard is it going to be to sell
this new franchise (inclusive of video games and merchandise) without the
familiar faces we all have come to love over the years? Good news is that the new movie series will mark J.K.
Rowling's debut as a screenplay writer.
As J. K. Rowling declard to the press, "Although it will be set in the
worldwide community of witches and wizards where I was so happy for seventeen
years, ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ is neither a prequel nor a
sequel to the Harry Potter series, but an extension of the wizarding world. The
laws and customs of the hidden magical society will be familiar to anyone who
has read the Harry Potter books or seen the films, but Newt’s story will start
in New York, seventy years before Harry’s gets underway."
I am wondering how Harry Potter's die-hard-fans welcomed the news.
Omg there's a movie?! I love this book, so even though Harry Potter, Hermione, etc won't be there, I'll be glad to see this. :)
ReplyDeleteGoldie, I have been scanning the web to find an expected release date, but I couldn't find any. I guess the production is still in its early stages. Thank you for your feedback! Hugs
DeleteAs a die- hard Harry P fan I welcomed the news with a lot of excitement and cries of "Yes, the queen is back" because JKR can do no wrong :p. I don't know how other's took it though, I think it will be awesome because it's obvs out of passion JKR would do something like this as it's not like she needs the money. Also I'm hoping that Dumbledore will make an appearance at some point- that would be cool.

DeleteHi Louisa! I have a 9 yo son. Harry Potter is part of our household: I am surrounded by HP books, HP dvd, HP videogames, HP Lego sets. He'll always be around :) JKR has all my admiration. Probably one of the most generous persons on this planet. Thank you for sharing you thoughts!
DeleteMy heat had broken into a thousands pieces... The thought of having another Harry Potter series without Harry, Hermione, Ron , Nebel, Hagrid and everyone else just kills me! (I don't know how to spell their names) I don't understand why the author can't continue the series with all of them grown up with the kids and them still there to help. but they're not my books so it's not my place to say :/ I'm sure these new series will be just as amazing as the Harry Potter ones... it's just going to be hard to accept it. and who knows, maybe one day we'll get lucky and she will continue writing of our so beloved characters! can't blame a person for helping! :)
ReplyDeleteI know, Crystal! Sometimes it's hard to say goodbye to a character after reading only one book, let alone when you literally grow up with a family of characters! Thank you for stopping by!
