"An alpha hero's attraction to the one woman he can't have could draw him into a killer's snare in the sizzling new novel from
New York Times
bestselling author Lori Foster."
Blurb - Charismatic bar owner
Rowdy Yates isn't the kind of man women say no to. So when he approaches
waitress Avery Mullins, he fully expects to get her number. However,
the elusive beauty has her reasons for keeping her
distance, including a past that might come back to haunt them both.
Avery spends her nights working for tips and trying to forget the secret Rowdy is determined to unearth. But when history threatens to repeat itself, Avery grows to rely on Rowdy's protective presence. As the sparks between them ignite, she will be forced to choose between the security she's finally found and the passion she's always wanted.

My review - Fabulous character combination! Individually and as a couple, Avery and Rowdy reminded me of all the reasons why I enjoy reading romance novels. There is something about the chemistry between an alpha male with a heart of gold and a female lead shy and unassuming on the surface, but strong willed and passionate in her core, that strikes a chord with me every time.
I could keep on gushing to no end over this lead couple and the heartwarming quality of their story. The contrast between their backgrounds and walks of life couldn't be starker: him, an abused and neglected child, a street smart with a rough past, born on the wrong side of the tracks; her, a pampered girl from a well-to-do family, longing for freedom and independence. They have a great deal in common: Rowdy and Avery both hide very similar and compatible needs and desires. Protect and be protected. Love and be loved. It's a match made in heaven.
She is adorably shy, proud and savvy, but she has secrets. In spades. He likes to hang in the gray areas of society wearing his "bad boy" reputation as an armor. Despite his suggestive name and his sinfully rough look, he's golden. Through and through. Well, they are the whole package. If weak-in-the-knees romance with a splash of suspense is your cup of tea, go for it. Getting Rowdy needs to be your next pick.

ReplyDeleteThe first book I ever read was Lori Foster's "Jude's Law". I loved the characters, the slight hint of excitement and danger... May was by no means perfect (and Jude wasn't either) but that made them feel so much like people to me. The reason I read Lori Foster's books is because they make me laugh, grow attached to the characters, and eventually feel happy for them when they finally get together.
I love Lori Fosters books! I don't think I've ever read one that I didn't like!

ReplyDeleteIn the middle of reading Getting Rowdy and so far I love it. although i love all of lori's book
ReplyDeleteLori Foster has been one of my personal favorite authors, they are stories that draw me right into the book. They can get steamy, emotional and I cheer on the characters as stuff starts happening to them. Any author that can bring you into the story knows how to write a great book.. Here are some of her books that are hot: Too Much temptation, Say no to Joe, Simon says and of course a person favorite Bare it all.
ReplyDeleteLove Lori Fosters books. I first started off with the Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor Series and I found I couldn't put the books down. Then she wrote the Love Undercover Series and found that I couldn't put them down also. I can't wait to read Getting Roudy. Every man Lori writes about seems sexier than the last.
ReplyDeleteThe suspense in each is also a large part of what makes Lories books so fantastic.
